Information About Rae Dunn
The award winning graphic designer Rae Dunn is a native of Fresno, California and graduated from Fresno State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design in 2006. In addition to her industrial design background, Rae Dunn has worked in retail graphic design and fashion in San Francisco for several years.
Since 1995 she has been working as a ceramicist, and in 1996 she founded her brand eponymous. She is well known for her simple wares which bear words such as “Yum” or “Family” emblazoned on them.
In the decade 2010 the brand gained popularity due to the “farmhouse chic” trend as well as the increase in social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, both of which contributed to its recognition. Despite her best efforts, she does not intend to create a “weird phenomenon” when it comes to her brand.
Moreover, she expressed concern about resellers, saying that “I wish I could sell more of my handmade items, but when I do, I know that the items are being bought and resold for hundreds of dollars more” and “I feel taken advantage of”.
