Which Designer designed Frutiger Font?
“Adrian Frutiger” designed the Frutiger typeface.
In 1968, Adrian Frutiger designed the new sign system and directional system for Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport when it was opened.
It was thought that Frutiger would use his famous Univers font family to design the airport signage, but instead, he created a sans serif font so that it could be viewed from both the side of the road and the sidewalk at a distance of 50 meters.

The Frutiger typeface was designed by Swiss type designer Adrian Frutiger and is based on Roissy, which was commissioned in 1970/71 to design the airport in Roissy, France.
As a result of Concorde’s design is based on the Sans-Serif typeface created by Frutiger in the 1960s, Stempel released it to the public in 1976.
A reflection of its use in corporate branding and transportation branding, Linotype’s 2008 sales records rank it as its fifth best-selling typeface in the company’s history
As a result of the changes made to the letter properties originally designed for Charles De Gaulle in terms of appearance and legibility at varying angles, sizes, and distances, the letter properties were adjusted accordingly.
The ascenders and descenders are prominent and wide apertures allow letters to be easily identified. There has been an improvement in spacing and pronounced ascenders and descenders compared to Roissy.
